J-35 F: 230 units built.
Maximum speed of Mach 2 at high altitude.
The first Swedish airplane to reach Mach 2 in January 14th, 1960.
Service ceiling at 66,000 feet, but rarely the J-35F could reach that altitude.
Engine license built Rolls Royce Avon 300 with Swedish designed afterburner.
Internal armament:
2x 30 mm Aden cannons with 90 rounds per cannon.
The Swedish versions were primarily fighter versions with air-to-air missiles with possibility to carry air-to-ground rockets. Sweden also used a 2-seat trainer version, SK 35C (25 units built) and photo reconnaissance version S-35E (30 units built and 29 J-35D units converted to S-35E version).
Exported to Finland (fighter version), Denmark (fighter/attack version) and Austria (20 of fighter version).
Most of the export aircrafts were exported from the Swedish Air Force wings after modifications, a smaller amount were factory built for export.
Denmark ordered 20 of the attack version, 20 of the reconnaissance version and 6 of the 2-seat trainer version.
The attack version were due to customer demands modified with a stronger airframe to carry bombs and heavy attack loads.
651 aircrafts produced in total of all versions.
230 of version J-35F produced.
67 of version J-35F modified to version J-35J.
In USA, the National Test Pilot School used six J-35 formerly used in Danish Air Force.
